Meet the Team

The MapYourVoice global team...

 

is made up of dedicated volunteers from around the world working to make a difference. Sexual violence is a global issue that matters to each of us for different reasons. MapYourVoice has brought us together to bring the world a new solution for ending sexual violence. MapYourVoice unites us to create and grow this movement for global change.

 
 

dr. Jeni Ambrose

Jeni Ambrose has a bachelor’s in journalism and has served as media representative and led electoral and advocacy campaigns for members of the U.S. House and Senate, international dignitaries, political and nonprofit organizations. A doctoral candidate in psychology, Ms. Ambrose has a private therapy practice supporting patients impacted by sexual violence. In 2013, Ms. Ambrose founded Global Change Project, a nonprofit advocacy organization aimed at developing strategic approaches to ending sexual violence on a global scale. MapYourVoice is GCP’s first strategic initiative.

 

 

Shava Smallen

Shava Smallen is a technical project lead and software developer working in cloud and high-performance computing at the San Diego Supercomputer Center at University of California, San Diego. Ms. Smallen project manages our global volunteer site and software development team. She has been instrumental in translating organizational programmatic objectives into a tangible application - working as both subject matter/programmer liaison and a core programmer.

 

 

Kate Kaya

Kate Kaya is a cyberinfrastructure developer, systems and database administrator, and research applications programmer for a variety of projects at the University of California, San Diego's Supercomputer Center. On the MapYourVoice team, she has led and managed the development of the site’s infrastructure from start to finish. Kate has combined her IT expertise with a commitment to meeting survivors’ core needs to build the platform into what it is today.

 

 

Brad Baker

Brad has a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Mathematics and Philosophy, and is an alumnus of the U.S Fulbright Student Research Program in Germany, where he worked on research in Machine Learning. Currently a Graduate Research Assistant with the Mind Research Network at the University of New Mexico, Brad’s research focuses on Privacy-Sensitive, Distributed Machine-Learning and the application of Neural Networks to problems in Cyber-Security and Software Engineering. Brad also does research in the cross-section of Philosophy and Computer Science, especially in the field of Information Ethics. Brad works on web development and data processing for MapYourVoice.

 

 

Matt Taylor, PHD

Matt Taylor is a strategic communications professional with a doctoral degree in mass communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After starting his career in journalism his professional work has since focused on nonprofit communications with organizations including the American Cancer Society, Duke Law School, and multiple independent schools. He has managed social media on both individual and organizational levels and holds inbound marketing certification. Matt coordinates MapYourVoice’s social media efforts.

 

 

Alexandria Chaitin

Alexandria is a Masters of Public Health student at Boston University School of Public Health, studying health communication and promotion, graduating in May 2019. Alexandria originally started at MapYourVoice as a social media intern and is now the communications coordinator. Her passion to spread important public health messages to large populations is what led her to MapYourVoice. Alexandria creates and coordinates the social media, blog, and e-campaign.

 

Interns

 

Rahsel Holland

Rahsel is a Spring 2019 Grant Writing intern for MapYourVoice. She is an English and public policy major at the University of Delaware. She hopes to pursue a career in professional writing. She enjoys volunteering with Urban Promise’s after school program. She blogs, edits the UD literary magazine, and interns with a book publisher in Smyrna, Italy.

 

 

Brittney Thomas

Brittney is MapYourVoice's social media intern. She is currently a senior at The University of Alabama pursuing her Bachelor and Master in Marketing concurrently through the Accelerated Master’s program. She works with Alexandria to help create and coordinate the social media, blog, and e-campaigns.

 

 

Kira Ahyick

Kira is currently completing a double degree at the Australian National University and is expected to graduate in December 2019 with a Bachelor of Politics, Philosophy and Economics and a Bachelor of International Security Studies. Kira writes articles for online publications about MapYourVoice and issues of sexual violence. She is also passionate about issues of equality and national security, as well as finding solutions to global challenges.

Fred Krupica

Fred Krupica has 30 years of business experience and 15 years of fundraising. Krupica brings executive leadership and oversight to our organization. Krupica has led several high-growth corporations, most recently as CFO of LegalZoom, Inc. Krupica’s previous positions include serving as the CFO of Altra Inc., CFO of Fastclick, Inc., CFO of WJ Communications, CFO of Magnetic Data Technologies, CFO and COO of a private equity firm, and founder of a professional services firm.

 

 

Gail Rappaport, Esq.

A mediator and attorney, Gail Rappaport has been active in the women’s movement since the early 1970’s. She has practiced law since 1977 and is a former executive director of the Legal Aid Foundation of Santa Barbara County. She helped found Santa Barbara Rape Crisis Center and the first Shelter Services for Women. She has served on many nonprofit boards and in 1990, was honored as "Outstanding Women of the Year" by the Santa Barbara County Commission on the Status of Women.

 

 

Dat Nguyen

Dat Nguyen is a brand, product and creative director with 20 years experience creating brands, services and award-winning products. He has a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and Philosophy and is passionate about bringing together design, business, and technology to build successful, impactful products and organizations. Helping to co-found and develop the initial concepts for MapYourVoice, Dat serves as an advisor to the project and as a board member for Global Change Project.
